What type of glass is used in oven doors ?
Firstly, the glass used in oven doors must withstand high heat, while at the same time keeping the temperature inside the oven at a steady temperature.
Tempered glass is the most commonly used material for oven doors, because of its desirable characteristics thanks to its durability, safety and low conduction.
For some combination ovens, usually 3 pieces of tempered glass are used to form a complete oven door. The inside panel and middle panel will be Low -E glass. The outside panel will be clear or tinted glass with ceramic frit printing design.
Low-E glass, also known as low-emissivity glass, is a product that has multiple layers of metals or other compound films deposited on the surface of the glass. The coating layers of this glass have the characteristics of high transmittance of visible light and high reflection of mid-to-long infrared rays.
Compared with ordinary glass, it has excellent heat insulation performance and good light transmittance. Its coating reflects heat back into the oven while allowing visibility. That improves energy efficiency and cooking performance.

Tips
The tempered glass has 3‰ of spontaneous explosion probability.
The impurities inside the glass are the cause of the self-explosion.
So, using high-quality tempered glass can reduce the risk of self-explosion.
