What's Ceramic Glass ?
Ceramic Glass commonly referred to as glass but it is actually a transparent ceramic. Unlike true glass, Ceramics can withstands continuous exposure to high temperatures without fear of destruction. It is also resistant to failure due to temperature variation. It is the ideal solution for many wood stoves and fireplaces.
Glass-ceramics have a characteristic manufacturing process and a unique set of properties. Combining the best aspects of glass and ceramic, they represent a new class of materials.
Depending on the microstructure and the chemical composition of glass-ceramics, their properties can be tuned to meet demanding requirements. In general, glass-ceramics exhibit almost zero thermal expansion and high toughness.
Ceramic glass is manufactured differently. It’s not just heat-treated glass — it’s composed of a glass-ceramic material that remains stable even at extreme temperatures. It can withstand up to 600 Fahrenheit of temperature, which means it can be used for fireplaces, glass stoves, and cooktops. This makes it suitable for fireplaces, wood-burning stove windows, and oven doors.
